Becoming Fatigued

It’s hard being a Dungeon Master, especially if you’re running a homegame. It’s faster to think of ideas than see them executed, so most DMs plan far in advance of where the story is. I’ve had several campaigns come to unfortunateĀ ends well before the story reached its conclusion. And by “several” I mean “most”.

With the long delay between creation and execution and so much time to think about what’s coming next it’s very easy to get antsy, desiring to speed things up. Or move on to whatever game or campaign concept has caught your eye in the meantime. Because there’s always a new game out there just begging to be played.
