Dead Fall

I always joke that “nobody looks up.” Mostly in relation to movies, as it’s easy to hide by the ceiling, even at a moment’s notice. But also at the game table, because it’s a great place for ambush monsters to lurk and traps to be hidden. It’s a silly joke, but when playing atmospheric 3D video games I find this oddly true: I often forget to look up and avoid being snagged by some horrible beast.

But that’s because we walk on the ground and have to watch where we step to avoid tripping. For a creature that can naturally fly and has eyes atop its body (I’m not even sure flumphs can look beneath them without turning upside down), they might be more inclined to look up and have to be reminded to look down.
