Falling Down

This is one of those weird bits of rules text where the designers were only thinking about how a rule could apply to an adventurer in a game, forgetting the other situations where it could come up and how it could affect the environment and world. Oops.

It’s also a textbook example of something any reasonable Dungeon Master should read once and go “… yeah… that’s not how that works in my game. Objects take damage too.”

But you can keep it in your back pocket for an Adventurer’s League game to really get a great reaction. Just don’t protest if the DM overrules you.
