In Search of Adventure

Alternate title: looking for loot in all the wrong places.

Adventuring is an inherently suicidal occupation for common people. Fighting monsters and dungeon delving seems as conducive to a long life as juggling poisoned chainsaws to entertain a bored Queen Elizabeth holding a blank execution order. As such, it’s hard for adventurers to gauge risk. When the innkeeper says “no one has seen the beast of the hills and lived to speak the tale” it’s uncertain if that means the party should go be the first or if the GM is trying to encourage them to stick to the road and not hike overland.
