Keeping Score
Some gamemasters are really proud of their TPKs. At GenCon one year, I heard a Pathfinder Society GM stand up and excitedly declare to the entire ballroom “TPK!” I don’t think I’d be excited. I’d probably feel guilty. I’d watch the last PC drop and the last player mark their character as dead and feel shame. Then I would go home, sit in a dark corner, and silently drink myself into oblivious while listening to The Cure.
One of my first times GMing, I caused a TPK. It was all my fault, though. My first mistake was that I was running Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, but missed that we were supposed to start at level 3. Aside from the fact that it’s an amusing story, I’m not at all proud of it.
Depends on the party really, muahahaha
Best is if one is left standing, defeats all the odds and then brags about it to the next PCs. Or worse, has the dead ones resurrected so they never hear the end of it.
