Long Rest

There’s a lot of variety in gaming groups so it’s very hard to get into distinct categories, but I think one of the safe generalizations is that there are two ways of approaching adventurers resting overnight: it’s safe, or it’s dangerous. Either the DM is going to have hideous monsters try and kill you in your sleep or you just wake up and nothing has happened.

For one group, setting a watch order, picking a campsite, and being alert is vitally important, worthy of detailed thought. For the other group, as long as they’re not in a room beside monsters (or with a door remotely easy to secure) nothing will ever happen to them.
