Management Style

You want to give players spotlights from time to time. Moments when their character is the focus of the story as someone engages them in single combat or a lengthier roleplaying moment relevant to their character arc and not the rest of the player characters. These are the moments that define a character and bring closure to their backstory and elements of their narrative. They’re a vital part of the game and might be some of the most memorable moments of the campaign for that player.

For everyone else they’re a forking bore.

It’s a challenge to keep the rest of the party entertained during that moment. Pulling away from the spotlight just long enough to keep them from becoming bored or engaging in disruptive activities.
