Not-So Dying Words

Occasionally, after slaughtering their way through a group of enemies, my players will have an attack of conscience and try to stabilize a few of their victims. Typically after fighting humanoids such as bandits who might be redeemable. Suddenly then I either have to let all the NPCs expire at 0 hit points like monsters, or roll numerous death saves.

But this is nothing compared to the situation when someone has dying words to say, which means they’re technically conscious and thus above 0 hit points and easily saved by even the lowest level magics or passable skill in medicine paired with a merely average roll.
