Try Your Luck

Many games don’t track food and rations, with adventurers just being assumed to always have enough provisions to survive, or salvaging food as they travel. But even those campaigns that do track food typically have adventurers spending weeks relying on preserves for nourishment supplemented by whatever they can scavenge off the wild. But neither of those methods is particularly healthy for long term nutrition, and is unlikely to lead to a well-rounded diet. Foraging is probably the healthier option, but unlike hunter/gatherers, the adventurers are typically dependant on what is available along a set route.
