Unwanted Loose Change

Silver pieces are meant to be the backbone of the D&D economy. Silver and copper coins likely constitute the majority of transactions and purchases in town. They represent a full day’s pay to average untrained labourer. Basically a ten hour shift at minimum wage. $50 is a good rough ballpark for the value. And yet adventurers are so used to acquiring vast amounts of currency (especially from 3rd Edition onward) that silver pieces are dismissed as not valuable enough for their weight. Not worth taking.
